Roku reveals a secret mode on devices that should turn on every time someone visits – it can even help you avoid a big bill

YOUR Roku streaming device has a special feature that’s perfect for when you have overnight guests.

This is a standard feature on every Roku device, so you don’t need to download anything extra.

This feature is called Guest Mode and is intended for use when other people are using the TV.

It allows them to securely log in to their own accounts – without breaking your setup.

And importantly, it will prevent anyone from spending your money. money via the Roku app.

“Your guests can confidently use their own app accounts and subscriptions on your Roku streaming device in guest mode,” explains Roku.

“Guests can enjoy free content, live TV and music, or try any of the more than 10,000 apps offered by Roku.

HOW TO ACTIVATE GUEST MODE ON ROKU

Enabling guest mode is very simple, but you need to prepare for it in advance.

This is because Guest Mode requires you to enter your Rooku PIN.

Scroll down and select Settings
Select Guest Mode
Then select Enter Guest Mode
Now enter your set Roku PIN
Click OK and confirm

Roku says the app is available in the US, UK, Canada, France, Mexico and Latin America.

If you want to disable guest mode, follow a similar procedure.

Follow these steps:

Press the Home button on your Roku remote
Scroll and select Settings
Then tap Guest Options
Now select Sign out and clear information
Then enter your Roku PIN
Finally, select OK

However, Roku adds that “after disabling Guest Mode, it may take several minutes for your device to reset and you may need to log in again to some apps.”

It is also possible to manually log a guest out from anywhere.

“Your guests can log out at any time, or they will be automatically logged out of all subscriptions and logins on the date they choose,” Roku said.

“All added apps will be automatically removed when you log out.

“If your guest left early or accidentally selected the wrong check-out date, you can check them out remotely using the instructions below.”
