The quantity of yogurt was sold exclusively on behalf of Dairy Development Corporation (DDC), Nepal Dairy Association and Dairy Industry Association.

An estimated 6.2 million liters of yogurt were sold by three dairy vendors on Saturday. Pralhad Dahal, president of the Nepal Dairy Association, said the yogurt was sold at an average price of 170 rupees per liter.

Moreover, according to President Dahal, Juju Dhau from Bhaktapur and additional yogurt worth at least Rs 500 million were sold through registered sellers across the country.

According to Arniko Raj Bhandari, former president of the Dairy Industry Association, yogurt sales on Asar 15 increase twice as compared to normal days.

On normal days, the daily consumption of yogurt from the formal sector is 727,000 litres.
