Aladdin Group announces plans for first premium quality products and halal e-marketing in Singapore

Aladdin Street Singapore is set to be the world’s first premium halal food and e-marketplace, set to launch in Q4 2016.

Aladdin Street Singapore, a member of the Aladdin Group, recently announced that it will be the world’s first premium halal food and e-marketplace to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The e-marketplace will feature only the highest quality and halal products, intended for both B2B and B2C communities, through two e-commerce platforms – Aladdin Street Singapore (the national e-platform will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2016), which serves the domestic market, and Aladdin Street (an international e-platform to be launched in Q4 2016), which provides Singapore producers, manufacturers and enterprises with access to the global e-marketplace.

Aladdin Street aims to provide a trusted and secure e-marketing platform where both sellers can trade and consumers can purchase the highest quality and halal products while enjoying complete peace of mind.

The Aladdin Street Singapore announcement adds to the list of 29 other countries with which the Group has since entered into Phase 1 joint ventures, in countries such as China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand , Pakistan, Morocco, Mauritius, Iran, Middle East, Turkey, Europe, UK, USA and Canada.

The Aladdin Group has allocated as much as USD 130 million to promote and support the Aladdin Street brand around the world over the next 3 years. In addition to these global marketing activities, Aladdin Street Singapore will invest a further S$2 million (US$1.48 million) in Phase 1 to support its national efforts to make Aladdin Street the preferred brand for halal and premium products.

Aladdinstreet.com.sg expects to achieve sales of over A$50 million ($37 million) in the first year of launch. The e-marketplace also works with government agencies, industry associations, chambers of commerce and halal certification bodies to help Singaporean SMEs access the global e-marketplace through the Group’s international network.

“The direction and future of e-commerce and changes in consumption patterns are obvious and cannot be prevented,” Grace Kong, co-founder and CEO of Aladdin Street Singapore, said in a press statement.

“Rising rents and labor shortages have disrupted retail and are preventing promising small businesses from setting up shop. Aladdin Street Singapore will be the next best alternative where merchants are also partners and we will work closely with them to grow their business for a mutually beneficial partnership,” she added.

Founded in mid-2015, the Aladdin Group is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is headed by co-founder and Malaysia’s first astronaut, Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Al Masrie.
