Huawei MatePad 11.5 S Smart Gets First Multi-Device Tasks Update

The 11.5-inch Huawei MatePad S Smart Edition tablet receives its first update with the important “multi-device task management” feature. As the name suggests, it allows you to easily manage multiple operations across multiple devices without interrupting your work.

The Chinese tech maker recently launched the MatePad 11.5-inch S series of tablets for its domestic users. It offers two main versions: Standard and Smart Edition. Both models are now receiving their first update with several new additions and optimizations.

According to the changelog, the 11.5-inch Huawei MatePad S tablets will receive the new software version HarmonyOS 4.2.0.103. While the version is the same for both models, the list of changes differs slightly.

The update brings a significant “multi-device task management” feature for Huawei MatePad 11.5-inch S Smart Edition. However, the standard variant receives improved system stability. Please note that the classic model already has this feature.

Changelog for MatePad 11.5 S tablet:

  • Optimizations: Optimizes system stability in certain scenarios.

Changelog for MatePad 11.5 S Smart Edition:

  • New feature: Added multi-device task management functionality. In task center, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause for a moment to enter. Users can view and use recent tasks on the same device with a Huawei account and perform management operations such as submitting tasks.
  • Optimization: Optimizes system stability in certain scenarios.

The update is being rolled out in phases and will take time to include all eligible units in the region. You can check your system settings to manually download the latest version.

Both the standard and Smart Edition have similar specs, except for the Kirin processor. The former is equipped with a 9000WL, while the latter installs a 9000WM chip, making it slightly inferior to the base variant in terms of performance.

Another twist comes in the MatePad 11.5 S 12GB RAM version with another Kirin 9000WE. Now the company is working on another new tablet. It would be interesting to see which new Kirin chip brings to the table.
