Starmer says the pressure for growth is why workers are not planning for a bank tax

Keir Starmer-bsp-person> said Labour’s focus on economic growth means the party has no plans to increase taxes on UK banks. The opposition leader sought to reassure the financial sector less than a week before the election that will make him prime minister.

“None of our deals require any tax increases beyond what we have already agreed,” Starmer told Bloomberg in an interview on Saturday. “It’s not just about taxes, it’s about our focus on growth,” he said.
