Here’s what the ASX 200 market sectors looked like last week

Tech shares topped the ASX 200 market sectors last week, rising 2.67% in five trading days.

Meanwhile, S&P/ASX 200 Index (ASX:XJO) lost 0.18% to end the final trading week of FY2024 at 7,767.5 points.

Only three out of 11 market sectors ended the week in positive territory.

Let’s summarize.

Technology shares led the ASX sectors last week

Among the top technology stocks in the ASX 200 index, Wisetech Global Ltd Shares in the company (ASX: WTC) had a great week, gaining 5.82%, even though the company did not publish any information relevant to its price.

Wisetech’s share price closed FY24 on Friday at $100.30, up 25.67% over FY24.

Life360 Inc (ASX:360) shares rose 2.5% for the week to close at $16.37. The ASX 200 social app maker was the industry’s biggest gainer in FY24, posting a phenomenal gain of 122.72%.

Second largest technology share in the ASX 200, Xero limited liability company (ASX:XRO), is up 2.06% in the past week. Xero shares closed at $136.40 on Friday, up 14.69% from fiscal 2024.

TechnologyOne Limited Liability Company (ASX:TNE) shares were up 0.54% at $18.60 by Friday. That is an 18.85% increase in FY24.

The Nextdc limited liability company (ASX:NXT) share price fell in the final trading week of FY24. NextDC shares fell 1.67% to close at $17.63.

The ASX 200 data centre operator as a service has seen its share price rise an impressive 41.72% compared to FY24.

Altium Sp. z o. o. Shares in the company (ASX: ALU) ended the day at $68.03, up 0.21% for the week and 84.26% for FY2024.

Altium informed the market this week that most of the regulatory approvals for its acquisition will be finalized Renesas Electronics company have now been obtained.

What about ASX-based ETFs?

Among the ASX’s technology ETFs this week Betashares Global Cybersecurity ETF (ASX:HACK) had a good week with a 3.08% increase to $11.70 per share over five trading days.

ASX HACK is benefiting from growing new demand as businesses around the world seek to protect themselves from cyberattacks such as those experienced by Optus and Medibank Private Ltd (ASX: MPL).

HACK ETF is up 27.31% in fiscal year 2024.

Betashares Nasdaq 100 ETF (ASX:NDQ) rose 0.82% to end the week at $45.51 per share, just below its all-time high of $45.73 per ETF unit, which was reached on June 18.

The ASX NDQ had a great 2024 financial year, rising 31%, largely driven by the success of Magnificent Seven shares within the NASDAQ 100. These include superstar stocks Nvidia company AND Microsoft.
