Under the agreement, SP Group will act as an advisory entity on the clean energy transition, investing in power grid infrastructure, cooling systems and energy conservation solutions, as well as other projects spanning Hoa Sen Group’s infrastructure and steel mills across the country.

Hoa Sen Group has already installed photovoltaic systems on the roofs of several of its steelworks with a total capacity of 13.4 MWp.

This merger marks an important milestone for Hoa Sen Group, demonstrating its corporate responsibility towards the environment. This initiative aims to promote the use of clean energy in production, thus helping Hoa Sen Group reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and meet mandatory green standards in line with global trends, especially in international markets with stringent product emission requirements such as Europe and the US.

Vu Van Thanh, CEO of Hoa Sen Group, emphasized: This move demonstrates Hoa Sen Group’s strong commitment and determination to implement its sustainable development strategy. We are improving green production solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet green standards, actively improving competitiveness and expanding export channels for Hoa Sen Group products in international markets with stringent emission requirements. Furthermore, through the comprehensive implementation of clean and sustainable energy solutions, we intend to contribute to Vietnam’s national goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

Brandon Chia, Managing Director, Southeast Asia and Australia, Sustainable Energy Solutions, SP Group, said: “This partnership demonstrates our commitment to supporting our customers’ clean energy transition by promoting the adoption of renewable energy sources in their manufacturing facilities. Through sustainable energy solutions and digital energy management, we aim to help Hoa Sen Group achieve its energy efficiency goals while creating a more sustainable future for Vietnam.”

In the near future, Hoa Sen Group will continue to research, invest in and utilize clean energy sources in its warehouses, branches and stores nationwide. Once implemented, this project will significantly contribute to the optimization of electricity costs and environmental protection within the group.
