Indonesia is banking on cooperation with Japan to strengthen its nascent hydrogen industry

JAKARTA – Indonesia is betting that a new partnership with Japan will help turn its nascent hydrogen production sector into a key export industry as demand for cleaner energy surges.

At last month’s Hydrogen and Ammonia Development Acceleration Forum in Jakarta, hosted by the Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the two countries agreed to cooperate on creating an ecosystem for hydrogen and ammonia.
