Tamil Nadu: Anti-terrorism agency NIA raids multiple premises as part of investigation into Hizb-ut-Tahrir case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out multiple raids across Tamil Nadu on Sunday in connection with its investigation into the banned terrorist organization Hizb-ut-Tahrir.

The anti-terrorism agency carried out raids in many places, including: in Chennai, Trichy, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Erode and Thiruppur.

The searches mainly focused on two suspects – Abdul Khan, who was leasing farmland near Mandaiyur in Pudukkotai, and Ahmed, a resident of Kulandhai Ammaal Nagar in Thanjavur.

Tamil Nadu police also joined simultaneous raids to identify those linked to the terror group and collect evidence.

Further investigation is ongoing.
