The National Leadership of M&HWU and NUT commends Governor Ododo’s commitment to the health and education sectors

The national leadership of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (M&HWU) and the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) have expressed satisfaction with the commitment of the administration of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo, especially in the health and education sectors.

The National President of M&HWU, Dr. Kabiru Ado Sani-Minjibir, disclosed this while speaking at his office in Abuja when he received a team led by Comrade Onuha Edoka on behalf of the state government.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Ododo for appointing Onuha Edoka as Special Adviser.

Dr. Kabir Ado Sani-Minjibir has expressed optimism that industrial harmony will be achieved in Kogi State with the governor’s leadership style.

He noted that the payment of 100 per cent hazard allowance to all categories of healthcare workers is a dream come true and stressed that the measure is an expression of the political will of the governor to ensure good governance.

The President said the Secretariat is aware of other interventions, both in the health care sector and in other sectors, and thanked the Governor for recognizing labor leaders in his administration.

Dr. Kabiru explained that the Governor had made the right choice, noting that Onuh Edoka as Special Adviser would perform optimally with his vast wealth of experience, commitment to duty and administrative acumen.

The country’s president called on other governors and the president to bring more labor leaders into the government to achieve greater value.

He described Comrade Edoka as one of the most respected trade union leaders in the country.

Also at the House of Teachers, the Chairman of the National Union of Teachers of Nigeria (NUT), Comrade Audu Titus Amba, noted that all union leaders appointed to the government have never failed, citing the Governor of Kebbi State as a good example.

Comrade Audu said governments must recognize the value of trade union leaders in governance, explaining that appointees should give their best.

The NUT National President commended the Kogi State Governor for taking the right steps as a former comrade and appealed to Comrade Onuha Edoka and his team to remain focused on the task of improving the welfare of the workers.

Earlier during the visits, Comrade Onuh Edoka said that the purpose of the visit was to preach the new gospel in Kogi State.

Comrade Edoka deemed these visits essential, adding that leaders of organised labour unions should be abreast of the new hope that the governors have gained from the cordial relations between the government and the labour unions.
