Dyndrite introduces updated LPBF Pro software

Dyndrite, a provider of GPU-accelerated computing engine for creating digital manufacturing hardware and software, has released an updated version of Dyndrite LPBF Pro, the company’s 3D printing software for Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) machines, including those from Aconity3D, EOS, Nikon SLM solutions , Renishaw and Xact Metal.

Dyndrite LPBF Pro is a GPU-powered software toolkit that provides metal AM manufacturers with previously unattainable capabilities, including the ability to print previously impossible parts, define accelerated build strategies, and automate build preparation. The software is designed to increase the productivity, precision, traceability, and repeatability of AM material development and batch production processes while managing the growing data demands of AM. The software sets a new standard for developing material, alloy, and multi-material parameter sets, supports multiple layer heights, enables printing of complex geometries including small features, thin walls, domes, and supports, provides extensive surface roughness control, and offers methods for developing unassisted printing strategies. Dyndrite LPBF Pro is used in the aerospace, defense, missile, automotive, energy, and medical industries.

Improved functionality

Updates include greater control over part and support plate interfaces, including APIs for part avoidance and merging; advanced tools for heat exchangers/thin walls, beam mixing, and multi-optic strategies, all with expanded APIs, along with best-in-class build time estimates; new APIs with examples addressing multi-laser limitations; and a novel, integrated documentation and scripting interface that educates users as they interact with the product.

“Over the past six months, we have been working closely with members of our Early Adopter Program to ensure that our toolkit addresses their most significant technical challenges and process control needs,” said Steve Walton, Head of Development at Dyndrite. “Their feedback was invaluable and has been incorporated into this latest version. We are excited about what our users will be able to achieve with these new tools.”

Improved Renishaw support

Renishaw QuantAM users can now use Dyndrite LPBF Pro 3D volumetric segmentation tools to analyse and assign multiple parameters to parts. Using this method, Renishaw users have been able to successfully print coupons with overhangs of up to 30°, without supports.

“Dyndrite has shown an incredible level of commitment to our industry with the launch of Dyndrite LPBF Pro,” said Kevin Brigden, application engineering manager at Renishaw. “The use of Renishaw’s QuantAM API gives our current and future customers the ability to easily explore the extremely powerful toolkits offered by Dyndrite. I am extremely interested in new solutions developed using volume segmentation and the increased performance gained from Dyndrite’s powerful toolpath customization capabilities.”
