MHWUN and NUT praise Governor Ododo’s commitment to health and education -Freshangle News




The national leadership of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria and the Nigerian Union of Teachers and Comr. Audu Titus Amba, says it is pleased with the commitment of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo’s administration, especially in the health and education sectors.

The National President of M&HWU and NUT, Dr. Kabiru Ado Sani-Minjibir, disclosed this while speaking at his office in Abuja when he received the team led by Comr. Edoka, on behalf of the state government, commended Governor Ododo for appointing Onuha Edoka as Special Adviser.

Dr. Kabir Ado Sani-Minjibir said Governor Ododo has changed the narrative and expressed satisfaction that there will be industrial harmony in the state with the governor’s leadership style.

He noted that the payment of 100 percent risk allowance to all categories of healthcare workers was a dream come true, stressing that the measure shows the political will of the governor to ensure good governance.

The President stated that the Secretariat was aware of other interventions, both in health and other sectors, and thanked the Governor for recognizing the union leaders in his administration.

Our Kogi State Correspondentreports that Dr. Kabiru explained that the Governor had made the right choice, noting that Onuh Edoka as Special Adviser would ensure optimal results with his vast wealth of experience, commitment to duty and administrative acumen.

The National President urged other Governors, the President to include more union leaders in governance to achieve greater value, described Comr. Edoka as one of the most respected union leaders in the country.

Also at the Teachers’ House, the President of the National Union of Teachers of Nigeria, NUT, Comrade Audu Titus Amba noted that all union leaders appointed to government have never disappointed, citing the Kebbi State governor as a good example.

Comrade Audu said governments must recognise the value of union leaders in governance, explaining that those appointed should give their best.

The NUT National President has commended the Kogi State Governor for taking the right steps as a former comrade and appealed to Comrade Onuha Edoka and his team to remain focused on the task of improving the welfare of workers.

Earlier during the visits, Comrade Onuh Edoka said that the purpose of the visit was to preach the new gospel in Kogi State.

Comrade Edoka described these visits as essential, adding that the leadership of organized labor should keep pace with the Governor with renewed hope through cordial government-labor relations.
