Redbubble names former Amazon exec as new CEO

Articore Group Limited – parent company of Australian global marketplace Redbubble – has appointed Robin Mendelson as an independent non-executive director, effective today, July 1.

Redbubble sells print-on-demand products based on user-submitted art, including fashion and accessories. Articore also runs a similar business called TeePublic in America.

Mendelson spent 20 years at global e-commerce leader Amazon, leading teams in finance, product development, marketing, pricing and other critical functions spanning a variety of business models such as direct-to-consumer, marketplace, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and business-to-business.

As head of Amazon’s US Media Consumer Group, Mendelson delivered multi-year revenue and profit growth for the multibillion-dollar US business through customer-centric innovation, product development, supply chain optimization and continuous operational improvements.

Mendelson currently serves as a director at technology platform Mynd.ai, where he is a member of the compensation and audit committees. He also serves as the director of EdTech SaaS platform Mainstay, a higher education course sharing platform called EdTech Acadeum, and co-chairs TeachUNITED, an organization dedicated to teaching opportunities in rural communities in the US and abroad.

Mendelson also serves on the advisory board of the Broad Center at the Yale University School of Management and the Board of Governors of the Yale University Alumni Association. He is a certified director of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and a board member of the Northwest Chapter of NACD.

Mendelson holds an MBA from Yale University and a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University.

“I am pleased to welcome Robin to the Articore board and believe her expertise in finance, strategy and technology will prove extremely valuable and complement our existing board-level skill set,” said Anne Ward, Chair of Articore Group. “Robin’s operational experience and deep understanding of e-commerce will also provide us with unique insights into U.S. and global markets.

“As a board, we look forward to working closely with Robin as we continue to focus on driving profitable revenue growth and long-term shareholder value.”

Mendelson will run for election to the next general meeting of Articore shareholders.

“I am excited to join the Articore board at this pivotal time and look forward to sharing insights from my operational career, as well as my current board roles, to contribute to Articore’s continued growth and continued success,” Mendelson said.
