Vestas brings nine orders in one day

Vestas secured a total of nine orders on Friday, the latest of which was placed just before midnight and is for an 84-megawatt (MW) power supply order from an undisclosed U.S. customer.

Repowering means upgrading an existing wind farm with newer, more powerful and more efficient wind turbines.

Including Friday’s order wave, the Danish manufacturer added a total of 830 megawatts to its order book this quarter.

One of the orders is for 95 MW, with an associated 30-year service contract, AOM 5000, in Argentina. The order includes 21 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines, which are expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2025 and are expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of the same year.

It also received an order for 63 megawatts MW from customers Kangal Energy, Is Portfoy Infrastructure VCIF and Is Portfoy Renewable Energy VCIF for the expansion of five existing wind farms in Turkey.

A 45 MW contract was also signed in Turkey on Friday, which includes the delivery and installation of 10 V150-4.5 MW wind turbines and a 15-year AOM 4000 service contract.

Aquila Clean Energy in Lithuania has also prepared an order list for Vestas and has placed an order for 99 MW, where the contract includes 35 years of full service, AOM 5000.

Vestas turbines are also being sought by a wind farm in Western Cape Town, which on Friday placed an order for 144 MW, where the Danish wind turbine group will supply 32 V163-4.5 MW turbines to African Clean Energy Development.

Earlier that day, orders also arrived from Scotland and Germany.
