Nucleus Completes Acquisition of Third Financial

· Expands the offer for advisors and wealth managers.

· Significantly enhances existing “advisor as platform” capabilities.

Accelerates growth to become the UK’s largest platform group.

Nucleus Financial Platforms (Nucleus), one of the UK’s leading independent advisory platforms, has announced the completion of the acquisition of Third Financial following regulatory approval from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in May this year.

Third Financial is a leading investment platform and provider of comprehensive wealth management software serving discretionary wealth managers, multifamily offices and consolidation advisors.

This acquisition significantly expands Nucleus’ advisor-as-platform capabilities. It is currently the only major platform group with a comprehensive offering of custom platform solutions for advisory and wealth management firms of all shapes and sizes.

Richard Rowney, CEO of Nucleus, said: “We are delighted to have successfully completed the acquisition and officially welcome our new colleagues from Third Financial to the group. At the heart of our offering is the fact that one size does not fit all, and by combining businesses we can now develop tailor-made platform solutions for each client.

“We look forward to the next chapter in our growth journey with the integration of Third and developing the opportunities that lie ahead to serve the broader wealth sector.”

Ian Partington, CEO of Third Financial, continues to report the business to Mike Regan, Chief Commercial Officer of Nucleus.

Ian Partington, CEO of Third Financial, added: “Exceptional service, innovation and deep knowledge of the financial advisory and wealth management market have always been our core values. This is shared by Nucleus and we look forward to the opportunities ahead as part of the larger group.”

The group is now entrusted with £97bn of assets under administration (AUA). Third Financial’s software service supports the administration of another £40 billion of assets.
