ScottishPower appoints two new directors

ScottishPower has made two new executive appointments: Charles Langan has been named its new chief financial officer and Nicola Connelly has been named executive chairman of SP Energy Networks.

Both are recognised leaders within ScottishPower, with Langan previously holding senior finance roles in the UK and Spain, most notably managing fixed income investor relationships at Iberdrola Group and most recently as ScottishPower’s Chief Financial and Resources Officer.

Connelly takes over from Vicky Kelsall, who is retiring after 30 years at ScottishPower and Iberdrola Group, including its North American businesses PacifiCorp and Avangrid. She will be appointed head of SP Energy Networks in 2022.

Connelly has held a number of senior positions within ScottishPower since joining the company in 1995. She was previously Finance Director at SP Energy Networks and was appointed Chief Control and Administration Officer of ScottishPower in July 2021.

Charles Langan, ScottishPower’s new finance director

Keith Anderson, ScottishPower chief executive, said: “Both Charles and Nicola are highly experienced, dedicated leaders and their appointments reflect their proven track record of strategic vision, strong leadership and consistent delivery.

“With a £12 billion investment plan and a huge pipeline of projects across our business, their commitment to excellence and adding value will be invaluable to ScottishPower and SP Energy Networks.

“I would like to thank Vicky for her achievements, dedication and commitment to the company and with great respect I wish her a happy and well-deserved retirement.”

ScottishPower is part of the Iberdrola Group, one of the world’s largest integrated utilities and a leader in wind energy, which will invest over £12 billion in the UK by 2028.
