Elliot Anderson releases an emotional statement to Newcastle United fans

Elliot Anderson is no longer a Newcastle United player.

However, he will always remain a Newcastle United fan.



The club revealed the news of his departure to Nottingham Forest around midnight.

Now long-time NUFC supporter Elliot Anderson has released his own emotional farewell statement to Newcastle United fans.

Good luck Elliot at Forest and in your future in general.

Elliot Anderson releases personal statement to Newcastle United fans and the club – 1st July 2024:

“Representing my club for 14 years was a dream come true.

“Putting on that black and white shirt at St James’ Park is a moment that will never be taken away from me.

“I would like to thank everyone associated with the club and all the Geordies who have supported me throughout my journey.

“I will always support the club and wish all the best to everyone involved.

“When one door closes, another opens.

“Thank you Newcastle United”

Elliot Anderson has been sold to Nottingham Forest.

Newcastle United’s official announcement (see below) published in the early hours of Monday morning reveals the news.

The announcement was one of three in quick succession, with Yankuba Minteh being sold to Brighton and Odysseas Vlachodimos arriving from Nottingham Forest.

The fee for Elliot Anderson was not mentioned but it was widely believed that Forest had agreed a fee of £35m for the 21-year-old, who started out at St James’ Park.

As you can see, both Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh have been sold solely to ensure Newcastle United are on the right side of the PSR, with their final financial year ending on Sunday 30th June 2024.

“Newcastle United midfielder Elliot Anderson has completed a permanent move to Nottingham Forest.

The 21-year-old, who came through United’s Academy system, leaves after making 55 senior appearances for his boyhood club, including 44 in the Premier League.

Born in Whitley Bay, Elliot joined the Magpies youth team at the age of eight. After becoming a regular in the Under-21s, he made his senior debut in January 2021, coming on as a substitute in the FA Cup win over Arsenal.

He was loaned to Bristol Rovers for the second half of the 2021–22 season and played a key role in their successful promotion, before returning to Tyneside to re-join the first team.

Last season he played in 21 Premier League matches, including 10 times in the starting lineup.
