The Halma Group intends to increase its fire safety capabilities through the acquisition of GFE

HALMA PLC, a global group of life safety technology companies, has acquired Global Fire Equipment SA (GFE) for its Ampac safety business. GFE, based in Faro, Portugal, designs and manufactures high-quality fire detection and alarm systems.

The cash consideration for GFE will be approximately £36 million, cash and debt free, and will be funded from Halma’s existing facilities. Unaudited revenues for GFE for the 12 months ended 31 March 2024 were approximately £13.7 million.

Supporting its commitment to safety and innovation, GFE offers a comprehensive range of high-quality products to suit a variety of fire protection needs, providing reliable and effective solutions for both commercial and industrial applications. Today, the company’s fully certified fire safety systems are installed in over 90 countries.

Marc Ronchetti, CEO of Halma Group, commented: “GFE technologies complement Ampac’s fire safety portfolio and will further expand the geographic markets we serve. We are excited about the opportunities we continue to see for acquisitions that are aligned with Halma.”

Ronchetti added: “It is also great to see our existing companies adding new capabilities and distribution footprint through joint acquisitions to accelerate their long-term growth. We are delighted to welcome GFE to our portfolio of market-leading fire detection companies.”

Tony Messercola, managing director of Ampac, noted: “We are pleased to add GFE to our portfolio. GFE has a strong brand reputation, backed by proven technology and exceptional customer service. This acquisition is consistent with our strategy to expand our international presence and deliver the most effective fire detection and evacuation solutions in the industry.”
