OFF!® brand and weather channel partner introduce new mosquito forecast in the app

With The Weather Company’s newly launched data and insights platform, The Weather Engine™, the OFF!® brand is expanding its capabilities OFF!Cast Mosquito Forecast™ from the SC Johnson Insect Science Center, with weather data and analysis from The Weather Company, the world’s most accurate weather forecaster,² inclusion of a mosquito index in The Weather Channel app, the most downloaded weather app in the world.³

How it works: We help people prepare for mosquitoes
The collaboration focuses on combining the expertise of the OFF!® and The Weather Channel teams to help people live well and enjoy the outdoors.

With over 15 billion climate data points and real-world mosquito data from 5,000 locations, OFF!Cast Mosquito Forecast combines entomological research on local mosquito species with detailed weather data to predict mosquito populations and activity levels by zip code. Historical activity patterns, weather variability, and weather and climate factors are considered when creating regional models.

Leveraging The Weather Company’s in-depth meteorological expertise, enhanced data sets include historical and forecasted temperatures, humidity and rainfall to help predict where mosquitoes are coming from, as well as forecasted conditions that affect mosquito activity on a given day.

How to view the OFF!Cast forecast
Through integration OFF!Cast mosquito forecast™ With The Weather Channel app, millions of consumers can now routinely check their local weather and mosquito reports on multiple platforms simultaneously:

• For those already using the OFF!Cast Mosquito Forecast™, it is still available on OFF.com but now includes enhanced weather data from The Weather Channel.
• The OFF!Cast tool will also be visible in the new The Weather Channel app experience on iOS. Check the Daily tab and Outdoor Activity tabs for camping, hiking, golf and gardening to get at a glance the risk level – low, medium, high, very high, severe – of mosquito activity based on local weather conditions for today and the coming days .
• To find out the mosquito risk in your area, sign up for weekly forecasts at OFF.com or with the OFF!Cast tool on the Weather Channel.
• Learn more about mosquitoes and how to avoid them with integrated educational content on The Weather Channel app and OFF.com.
• When weather conditions favor increased mosquito activity, SWITCH OFF! will share relevant, informative news about the Weather Channel’s digital properties and more.
