Lager, based in BiH, takes over one of the largest wind projects in Serbia

Lager from Posušje in Bosnia and Herzegovina has acquired the 300 MW Snaga Istoka wind farm project in Serbia.

Lager now owns an 85% stake in Snaga Istoka, the company behind the 300MW wind project, while Dejan Vuksanović and Igor Živković each own 7.5%, according to data from the Serbian Business Registry Agency. Before the change, Vuksanović and Živković each controlled 50%.

The Snaga Istoka wind farm project is in the process of obtaining connection consent from the Serbian transmission system operator Elektromreža Srbije (EMS). The proposed wind farm is on the list of 51 projects that met the conditions for concluding the so-called agreement on the preparation of a connection study, in accordance with the regulation on the conditions of supply and delivery of electricity.

Snaga Istoka is in the process of obtaining a connection to the network

However, meeting the conditions does not mean signing the contract. This is only the first of several stages of the new procedure. It was introduced to eliminate speculative investments from nearly 100 applications for connection to the network.

On the list of 51 wind energy projects, only two have a capacity greater than Snaga Istok: Lovćenac and Vetrogon.

The city of Bor started an early public debate a year ago on a detailed plan to regulate the Snaga Istoka project in its area.

The document covers an area of almost 2,700 hectares, mainly forests. The wind farm should consist of 41 wind generators with an installed capacity of 7.2 MW each.

Lager from Posušje has already built one wind farm

Lager is based in Posušje, a town in the Herzegovina region of BiH, between Split in Croatia and Mostar in BiH. Its main activity is the sale of construction machinery and spare parts. However, he built the second largest wind farm in Croatia – Krš-Pađene with a capacity of 142 MW.

According to its website, the company plans to enter the renewable energy market and equip and build smart energy grids and charging stations.

Lager is developing two more wind projects – Žujino Polje in Croatia with a capacity of 80 MW and Gradina in BiH with a capacity of 42 MW.

As we read on the website, the company’s goal is to become a renewable energy producer, produce wind farm equipment and build power plants in cooperation with leading global manufacturers.

The owner of Lager is Milenko Bašić.
