The new Gabb Phone 4 Pro for teenagers offers the highest flexibility and security ever; new app improvements and parental controls

Lehi, UT – Gabb®, a leader in safe technology for kids and teens, today introduced the Gabb Phone 4 Pro, a safe phone designed specifically for teens. The phone is the latest addition to Gabb’s line of safe phones, which follow Gabb’s “Tech in Steps” approach to providing out-of-the-box safety features.

“We want teens to be less dependent on screens,” said Nate Randle, CEO of Gabb. “We want teens to use this new phone as a safer way to connect with family and friends. Then we want them to put it down and develop their best selves through time away from their phones. That’s always the goal of every product we make.”

Gabb embraces the idea that children should have a unique relationship with technology, free from addiction and early exposure to adult content. By gradually introducing children to technology through devices and plans designed for different stages of technology readiness, Gabb helps ensure they receive the right technology at the right time. This gives parents the opportunity to match their child’s readiness to appropriate technology. This philosophy is known as Tech in Steps™.

Teen independence on parents’ terms.

With Gabb Phone 4 Pro, parents can give their teens as much independence as they are ready for while still being able to supervise and manage their teen’s digital experiences. Gabb Phone 4 Pro offers flexible plans that allow parents to choose how much access their teen has. From basic apps to parent-enabled third-party apps, Gabb Phone 4 Pro offers the flexibility to let parents choose the right approach for their teen.

Hundreds of applications. None of them are social media.

The Gabb Phone 4 Pro offers hundreds of third-party apps available in the Gabb App Store, which are discussed in the Gabb App Guide. These reviews provide insight into potential concerns that may influence parents’ decisions to prohibit or allow certain apps. Flags such as “no parental controls,” “potential internet connection,” or “communication with strangers” help parents understand whether an app is appropriate for their child. Each app is only available to teens once parents enable it. Because parents can control which apps are available for download, they have the ability to create a safer, less time-consuming digital environment for their teens. Web browser apps and social media apps are intentionally excluded from the Gabb App Store.

“We stand with the Surgeon General and the voices of many teenagers: social media poses a danger to young people,” said Lance Black, founder of Gabb. “Research shows that teenagers can waste over a year of their life by mindlessly scrolling. Unlike other social media app companies, Gabb is committed to providing a safer and healthier alternative for our youth.”
