Online sports betting firm Flutter taps Disney veteran to join board

(Reuters) – Flutter Entertainment, the world’s largest online sports betting company, said on Monday it had appointed former Walt Disney Co. Chief Financial Officer Christine McCarthy to its board.

Robert Bennett, a former Warner Bros. Discovery executive, also joined the company’s board.

McCarthy will be a member of Flutter’s audit committee and Bennett will be a member of the risk and sustainability committee as part of their appointments, effective July 30.

McCarthy is a 23-year Disney veteran who became the company’s chief financial officer in 2015, a role she held until June of last year. During her tenure, she held several executive positions at Disney and is currently an executive at Procter & Gamble.

Bennett was previously president and CEO of Liberty Media. He is currently an executive at HP and Liberty Media.

In May, Dublin-based Flutter appointed Rob Coldrake as its new group chief financial officer. He replaces Paul Edgecliffe-Johnson, who also resigned as chief executive.
