Apple Releases iOS 17.6 Beta 2 and Later to Developers

Today, Apple released the second beta of iOS 17.6 to developers, following a number of other beta versions of the software for other platforms.

New Features in iOS 17.6 Beta

iOS 17.6 introduces a brand new feature for sports fans in the TV app. Catch Up lets you review highlights from your ongoing game, so you can jump right into the game even if you missed the beginning.

Otherwise, iOS 17.6 focuses on improving stability and performance, without other important new features that are currently known. However, this may change during the beta cycle.

iOS 17.6 is expected to be the last major update to iOS 17, as the expected public launch of iOS 18 in September is just a few months away.

How to Install iOS 17.6 Beta 2 on Your iPhone

To install the update, go to Settings ⇾ General ⇾ Software Update and make sure Beta updates are enabled.

Since Apple is currently running developer betas of iOS 18 and iOS 17, you’ll need to choose which beta cycle you want to participate in. Once you’ve made your selection, a software update will appear in Settings.

End

iOS 17.6 isn’t the only version receiving developer beta 2 today. VisionOS 1.3, watchOS 10.6, iPadOS, and tvOS 17.6, and macOS 14.6 also released new betas.
