Sources say French antitrust authorities are preparing charges against Nvidia

BRUSSELS: French antitrust regulators are preparing to charge Nvidia with allegedly anti-competitive practices, people with direct knowledge of the matter said, making it the first authority to do so.

The so-called French Statement of Objection, or chargesheet, is expected to follow recent raids on the graphics card sector last September, which sources said targeted Nvidia.

The world’s largest maker of chips used in both artificial intelligence and computer graphics has seen demand for its chips soar after the launch of its generative AI app ChatGPT late last year, sparking regulatory scrutiny on both sides of the Atlantic.
