A metalworking supplier makes an acquisition to expand its market reach

Leeds-based supplier of metals and metalworking services, ASD Ltd, has acquired the assets of Birkenhead-based Atlantic Steel Processing Ltd.

This is to mark a new chapter in the development of ASD under the wings of Hierros Añon SA, one of the largest independent steel distributors in Europe.

By being based at the Port of Liverpool, ASD will strengthen its presence in the North West of the UK and enable cost-effective distribution into Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

In addition, ASD announces the introduction of a new product line to its portfolio – hot-rolled sheets and reversibly rolled heavy plates developed from coils.

With its expanded storage and unwinding capabilities of 2500 mm wide coils with thicknesses from 5 mm to 20 mm, ASD becomes the only distributor in Northern Europe with such extensive capabilities.
