Dynamatic Tech at the forefront of the defense and aerospace sectors

The Aerospace Park, which is being developed at Devanahalli near Bengaluru on 725.05 acres with an allotted area of 503.49 acres, is expected to house 49 units. Among those allotted land is Bengaluru-based Dynamatic Technologies, which has secured 27.65 acres. The aerospace technology company is in the process of investing around Rs 500 crore in the area.

Dynamatic, a $300 million company, designs and builds products for automotive, aerospace, hydraulics and safety applications at its design, engineering and manufacturing facilities in Europe and India. Its customers include Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Airbus and Boeing.

With an aim to “emerge as a global player in the precision engineering industry, catering to the needs of specific business segments,” the company has achieved this with praise it has received from even Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dynamatic has been very much the face of Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to indigenize the defense and aerospace sectors. Boeing and Dynamatic’s efforts to “Make in India” were highlighted by Modi during his keynote address at Aero India 2015 in Bengaluru. The company has become a Tier I supplier to various OEMs in our focused segments.

The company develops each supplier in the chain and certifies them to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards, the company said. The supplier ecosystems were built and managed by Dynamatic Technologies for Northrop Grumman (F16 radar assemblies) and Boeing (P8I project).

Dynamatic has the distinction of being the global supplier of individual flap track beam assemblies (in the aircraft wings) for the Airbus A320 family of aircraft. Under the agreement between Dynamatic and Airbus, billed as the largest manufacturing contract between Airbus and a private sector company in India, Dynamatic would assemble all the flap track beams at its facility in Bengaluru.

In the second phase, it was responsible for the entire supply chain of these beams, including material sourcing, manufacturing and final assembly. Later, it was awarded an aerostructures contract by Airbus to supply flap track beams for Airbus long-haul variants (A330 family). This made Dynamatic Airbus the first global tier 1 supplier to the Indian private sector.

The company’s customers include global automotive players such as Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, Hyundai and Mahindra & Mahindra. Also tractor manufacturers John Deere and New Holland.

Dynamatic’s revenue for the September quarter was Rs 367 crore and profit was around Rs 31.5 lakh.

Dynamatic Technologies Research and Development Center has been certified by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR) since 2001.
