Water Supply: Water Supply Disruption in Sectors of Greater Noida | Noida News

Greater Noida: The motor pump of an underground tank in Eta 1 sector in Greater Noida broke down on Monday morning, causing loss of supply in various sectors, including Delta 1, 2 and 3. Residents of these areas had to rely on tankers for their daily supply. Several other sectors in Greater Noida witnessed low water pressure and dirty water. At 7 am on Monday, Vinod — a pump operator in Eta 1 sector — informed residents that the motor pump in Eta 1 UGR sector had broken down. “As a result, there will be no water supply until it is repaired,” he said. Residents of the sector were also plagued by dirty water and low water pressure for the past few days. Deepak Bhati, president of the RWA in Eta 1, said that apart from this, leaking pipes were causing wastage of water. Incidents of leaking pipelines have also been reported in the commercial belt of Sector Alpha 2, Beta 1 and 2, Delta etc. Alok Nagar, general secretary of the Delta Sector 2 RWA, said there was no water supply on Monday. “Residents were depending on tankers for their water needs as it was the first day of the working week. At other times, the water problem in the area is severe,” Nagar said. The problem is persistent with residents of several sectors complaining about the quality and timing of water supply. “The water pressure in the sector is low most of the time and the residents of the sector have to bear the brunt of it. The motor pump from which water is supplied is not working due to which the water supply has been cut off since morning. People are forced to rely on water tankers,” Nagar said. Delta Sector 1 RWA general secretary Rishipal Bhati said no government official was aware of these problems and asked the GNIDA CEO to direct the officials to carry out an ‘end to wastage of water’ campaign in the city.
