What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files. When you visit a website, the website sends a cookie to your computer. Your computer stores it in a file on your web browser.

Cookies do not transmit viruses or malware to your computer. Because the data in a cookie does not change during transmission, they do not affect how your computer works, but they do act more like logs (i.e. they record user activity and remember state information) and are updated each time you visit a site.

We may obtain information about you by accessing cookies sent by our site. Different types of cookies track different activities. For example, session cookies are only used while a person is actively navigating around a site. Once a person leaves the site, the session cookie disappears.

Why are cookies useful?

We use functional cookies to analyze how visitors use our site, and to track and improve the performance and functionality of our site. This allows us to provide high-quality customer service by quickly identifying and fixing any issues that may arise. For example, we may use cookies to track which pages of the site are the most popular and which method of linking between pages of the site is most effective. The latter also helps us track whether you have been referred to us by another site and improve our future advertising campaigns.

Another use for cookies is to store login sessions, meaning that when you log into the Members Area to deposit funds, a “session cookie” is set so that the website remembers that you have already logged in. If the website has not set this cookie, you will be asked to enter your login and password on each new page as you progress through the funding process.

In addition, functional cookies are used for things like remembering your preferences and identifying you as a user, keeping your information safe and working more reliably and efficiently. For example, cookies save you the trouble of entering your username every time you access our trading platform and remind you of your preferences, such as the language you want to see when you log in.

Below is an overview of some of the functions our cookies provide:

  • Verifying your identity and detecting the country you are currently traveling to
  • Checking your browser and device type
  • Tracking the website from which a user was redirected
  • Enabling third parties to tailor content accordingly

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses analytics cookies placed on your computer to help the website analyze how users use the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) may be transmitted to and stored on Google’s servers. Google may use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data stored. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.
