Nazara plans to fully acquire Kiddopia for $36 million

  • Kiddopia continues to see a steady decline in subscriber numbers

Indian game publisher Nazara Technologies is reportedly set to acquire the remaining 49% stake in educational app Kiddopia for 36 million rupees ($300 million).

CNBC-TV18 cited sources as saying the deal could be completed by the end of the month. Nazara previously bought a 51% stake in Kiddopia, developed by Paper Boat Apps, in 2020.

For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, Kiddopia saw an 18 percent decline in subscribers compared to the previous year, to approximately 250,000.

Nazara continues to grow

The Kiddopia deal would be the next step for Nazara as it increases its investments and acquisitions.

In March this year, the company also committed to spending $100 million on mergers and acquisitions over the next 24 months to strengthen its global presence.

Nazara recently signed a deal with nCore to publish its upcoming multiplayer shooter FAU-G: Domination. Meanwhile, last week its subsidiary Nodwin Gaming acquired 100% of gaming and esports marketing agency Freaks 4U Gaming.
