White Collar Recruiting Activity Drops 7.62% in June: Report, HR News, ETHRWorld

Mumbai: White-collar hiring activity declined by 7.62 per cent in June as recruitment in most sectors remained flat, a report said on Monday. White-collar hiring activity declined by 7.62 per cent in June with 2,582 job offers as against 2,795 a year ago, as per Naukri JobSpeak Index. Sectors including telecom (12 per cent), BPO/ITES (9 per cent), education and teaching (9 per cent), Global Capability Centres (7 per cent) recorded revisions in hiring as compared to the same month last year, it said.

Cities in Rajasthan and Gujarat showed resilience, with leaders in job creation being Jodhpur (36 per cent), Kota (21 per cent), Udaipur (13 per cent), Rajkot (35 per cent), Surat (13 per cent) and Jamnagar (13 per cent), the report said.

However, larger cities like Bengaluru (9 per cent) and Mumbai (6 per cent) saw a decline in employment, it added.

“As we have reported over the last year, a shift in the power dynamics in the Indian employment landscape is underway, with mini-metros consistently outpacing their metro counterparts. Gujarat has been a silver lining in an otherwise turbulent market, and we are now excited to see emerging cities in Rajasthan like Jodhpur and Udaipur joining the fray,” said Naukri.com Chief Business Officer Pawan Goyal.
