Pipelined natural gas reaches Sector 11 in Chandigarh

Residents of Sector 11 now have access to the National Natural Gas (PNG) network.

Sharing a press release, Indian Oil-Adani Gas Private Limited (IOAGPL), which provides the connections, said PNG is safer and cheaper than the commonly used liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Besides, PNG is also lighter than LPG, which settles on the ground, while the former disperses in the air. Gas pipelines have been placed underground, leading to homes, similar to water or electricity connections.

The company first launched PNG connections in the city in November 2016 and since then the pipelines have been laid in various sectors of Chandigarh: from Sector 32 to 38, Sector 40 to 51, Phase 1 and 2 of the Industrial Area and Manimajra, the release added.
