Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: Fertilizer Stocks Fall as Market Falls

NEW DELHI: Shares of fertiliser companies ended lower on Tuesday.

Top gainers included Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd. (up 4.21%), Sikko Industries Ltd. (up 0.80%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd. (up 0.43%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd. (up 0.35%) and Rama Phosphates Ltd. (up 0.06%).

Top fallers on the day included Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. (down 3.04%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd. (down 2.88%), Madras Fertilizers Ltd. (down 2.38%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd. (down 2.30%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd. (down 1.85%), National Fertilizers Ltd. (down 1.75%), Coromandel International Ltd. (down 1.68%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd. (down 1.64%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd. (down 1.62%) and Paradeep Phosphates Ltd. (down 1.58%).

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the day down 18.11 points at 24,123.85, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 34.74 points at 79,441.45.

Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (up 2.84%), Wipro Ltd. (up 2.06%), Infosys Ltd. (up 1.91%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (up 1.49%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (up 0.99%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (up 0.96%), Coal India Ltd. (up 0.91%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (up 0.82%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (up 0.72%) and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (up 0.7%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack. On the other hand, Shriram Finance Ltd. (down 3.4%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (down 2.42%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (down 2.13%), Tata Motors Ltd. (down 2.08%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (down 1.89%), State Bank of India (down 1.88%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. (down 1.83%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (down 1.76%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (down 1.53%) and Bajaj Auto Ltd. (down 1.38%) ended the day on a negative note.
