Acquisition unites Canadian logistics companies

By Inside Logistics Online Employees

Canadian shipping, logistics and warehousing company Wellington Group of Companies announced the acquisition of Contract Express and welcomed its employees to its team.

Contract Express is a multimodal transportation solutions company headquartered in Guelph, Ontario. It serves a wide range of customers including automotive, machinery and equipment manufacturing, construction materials and furniture.

“Contract Express has created its own DNA. Our intention as the parent company of Contract Express is to leave that DNA in place and allow the business and people to have their own unique identity, while providing purchasing power and support for the group,” Wellington noted on his website. “It is the unique identity in our businesses that helps us become who we are, a well-diversified business that believes that our people are our brand and our people are the reason we succeed.

“A special thank you to Sean O’Brien and Jason O’Neil for all your dedication throughout this process. You have both built an exceptional company that has thrived since 1985 and we look forward to continuing to work with you both and building on the excellent foundation that has already been built.”
