Google Keep Just Got a Major Productivity Update for Foldable Devices

The feature is a continuation of the multi-instance support that Google introduced last year for larger Android devices.
This feature is being rolled out to Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains.

After introducing the ability to create two Google Keep notes side by side on Android devices with large screens, the search giant has announced another handy feature for its note-taking app.

People who use the Google Keep app on large Android devices, such as foldable phones, can now use multiple accounts side-by-side with the note-taking app. Imagine having two Google accounts and having two different Google Keep accounts connected to them at the same time, and you can probably use them for different purposes. The new update lets users view their accounts on the large Android screen and works around them as well.

“Having two windows open side by side gives you a better overview of your notes and more ways to work with, view, and organize your content across multiple accounts,” Google notes in an accompanying post about the workspace.

The shared GIF in the post further demonstrates how easy it is to use multiple accounts in Google Keep when viewed in multi-window mode. Users can switch between accounts in the Keep app by clicking on their profile picture, similar to how they switch accounts in the Gmail app or any other Google app.

The new feature is a neat addition to the previous support for multiple instances for Google Keep, which was introduced last year for large-screen Android devices. Google says the new productivity update is rolling out to Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains. It will be available to all Google Workspace customers, individual Workspace subscribers, and consumers who use their personal Google accounts.

The new feature is useful and comes hand in hand with the recent window resizing feature that was spotted in the Google Keep app. The ability to resize windows in the note-taking app was a top-requested feature by users and was discovered in testing early last month, hidden under a flag. Previously, the ability to resize windows was available in the Google Calendar app.
