Dassault Systèmes and Mistral AI join forces to accelerate the generative economy at the edge of AI

Dassault Systèmes, which has been dedicated to enabling people and businesses to deliver sustainable innovation in manufacturing, life sciences and healthcare for over 40 years, has entered the era of the generative economy, where industries must move from product to experience and sustainability. That is why it has partnered with Mistral AI to bring pioneering artificial intelligence (AI) to industries in a trusted environment.

Dassault sees its future as a journey in which it must leverage the benefits of virtual worlds to augment and enhance the real world. It believes that recent advances in AI technologies, especially large language models (LLMs) such as Mistral AI, provide an opportunity to accelerate this new journey.

Generative experiences can play a decisive role in industrial transformation for a more sustainable world. With LLMs, they can reveal and navigate in seconds large universes of knowledge and industry know-how, raising a gigantic data legacy for industrial customers.

The partnership is said to combine the “exceptional” virtual twin experiences and sovereign cloud infrastructure of Dassault Systèmes and LLM Mistral AI. The companies say industrial companies can now benefit from Dassault Systèmes’ industrial-grade solutions that protect intellectual property while leveraging the accuracy, responsiveness and sustainability performance of LLM Mistral AI.

The solutions will offer virtual twin experiences, combining scientific modeling, simulation and artificial intelligence to empower the workforce of the future. The two companies add that users can leverage industry knowledge and know-how and address industrial needs for reliability while maintaining intellectual property. Mistral AI’s LLMs, including the enterprise-class “large” model, are designed to provide a balance of accuracy, responsiveness and sustainable performance that meets Dassault’s requirements.

Outscale’s new offering – Large Language Models as a Service (LLMaaS) – will leverage sovereign infrastructure to deliver commercial-grade Mistral AI large language models based on security and compliance standards, including SecNumCloud.

Commenting on the agreement, Mistral AI CEO and Co-Founder Arthur Mensch said: “We are delighted to enter into this partnership with Dassault Systèmes, confirming our shared commitment to high-performance, efficient, secure and private generative AI for all. By leveraging Dassault Systèmes’ sovereign infrastructure and industrial solutions, we are pursuing our joint mission to drive the adoption of cutting-edge generative AI for all.”

Florence Hu-Aubigny, Vice President of R&D at Dassault Systèmes, added: “We continue our journey to reinvent industries worldwide with AI-powered virtual twins. The partnership with Mistral AI will enable us to offer trusted generative experiences by delivering a unique combination of scientific modeling, simulation and AI, including LLM, in a sovereign environment with Outscale. This partnership demonstrates our commitment to building a strong technology ecosystem for AI-powered industrial-grade solutions.”
