HepsiJet from Hepsiburada introduces electric vehicles to enhance sustainable last-mile delivery services

ISTANBUL, July 2, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — D-MARKET Electronic Services & Trading (d/b/a “Hepsiburada”) (NASDAQ: HEPS), a leading Turkish e-commerce platform, is expanding its logistics services through sustainable practices and innovative delivery methods. Hepsiburada’s last-mile delivery service, HepsiJet, has launched cargo distribution in select regions of Turkey using 21 electric vans.

Electric vans offer high energy conversion efficiency, significantly contributing to sustainable development by reducing carbon dioxide emissions. The use of these vehicles in freight distribution is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 0.21 tonnes per 1,404 kilometres driven per vehicle per month. Furthermore, electric vans are also estimated to be more cost-effective, increasing overall efficiency.

HepsiJet, a dedicated e-commerce delivery service, currently operates a vehicle distribution network of almost 3,500 vehicles and plans to expand its electric van network to 50 by the end of 2024. Following initial efficiency and performance assessments, the aim is to increase the number of electric vehicles in the fleet.

New electric vans have begun to be delivered to densely populated large cities, i.e. Istanbul, AnkaraIzmir, Mugla and Antalya.
