Maharashtra News: In a decision by the Maharashtra government, the age limit for women eligible for the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana scholarship has been raised to 65 and some restrictions have been relaxed.

Bombay: The decision has cheered women in Maharashtra after Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday announced that the upper age limit under the government’s Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana scheme has been raised to 65 years.

The statement came during a discussion in the state assembly during which Shinde said the condition under which a woman could get benefits under the scheme based on whether her family owned land had been abolished.
