White & Case Advises JAPEX on Texas Freeport LNG Project Investment

Global law firm White & Case LLP advised Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd. (JAPEX) on the acquisition, through its U.S. subsidiary, of an equity interest in Gulf Coast LNG Holdings LLC (GCLH), which owns an interest in the Freeport LNG project in Texas, from JERA Americas Inc. GCLH for approximately U.S. $380 million.

The Freeport LNG project plays a key role in the liquefaction and export of natural gas from the United States and represents a significant asset in the global energy landscape. The transaction was signed and closed in June 2024.
