Former NBA Players File Class Action Lawsuit Against NCAA in NIL Complaint

More than a dozen former college basketball stars have filed a class action lawsuit against the National Collegiate Athletic Association, accusing the organization of exploiting student-athletes in an “illegal profit scheme” that monetizes the student-athletes’ names, images and likenesses without their consent.

Peggy Wedgworth, senior partner and chair of the antitrust department at Milberg Coleman Bryson Phillips Grossman, filed the lawsuit Monday in federal court in Manhattan on behalf of plaintiffs who include members of the 2008 Kansas University Jayhawks men’s basketball championship team.
