As a top concern, Lucid Software’s Hybrid Workplace Whiplash Survey of over 2,500 knowledge workers found that companies were trying to solve productivity issues by expanding their technology stacks, with 45% of workers using five or more tools to complete tasks and get their work done. However, nearly half (44%) of employees are dissatisfied with the collaboration tools their company offers.

The study also sheds light on why employees are dissatisfied and the stark disconnect between the tools companies have in their tech stacks and the tools employees want. For example, only 22% of employees currently report using visual collaboration software, yet 73% of employees believe visualizations are important for effective collaboration.

The introduction of the Microsoft Copilot plugin with Lucid also brings AI directly into teams’ collaborative workflows. This integration allows teams to download Lucid documents and create AI-generated summaries of those documents. For example, let’s say a few team members are unable to join an important brainstorming session. In that case, they can access the relevant Lucid documents directly in Copilot and request AI-generated summaries to help them understand where projects are, what their team is thinking, and what the next steps are.

Coordinate activities in shared space with team hubs

According to a recent Lucid study, 75% of employees say that ineffective communication or collaboration is a barrier to innovation in their organization. To overcome this, Lucid is connecting teams in one centralized place called Team Hubs, a new team experience that allows team members to easily track progress, initiate and discuss work, and make decisions faster.

Team hubs offer comprehensive access to all team documentation. A team lead can create a team hub and add their direct reports to give them full access to critical documentation and support resources needed to complete projects and easily get the latest updates. Users can even create team hubs for specific project groups or scrum teams to improve cross-functional collaboration.

In the team hub, users can also pin a team space, the team’s home base for coordination. For example, a scrum team can pin their sprint planning board, as the team will regularly return to this document and collaborate on it to understand what goals they will achieve during the sprint.
