Lucid Software product capabilities boost team productivity and innovation

For years, organizations have been actively looking for ways to improve hybrid work for all employees. While returning to the office on a hybrid schedule is more common today, most employees, including 58% of executives, 55% of managers, and 43% of entry-level workers, say balancing productivity is the biggest challenge of hybrid work.

As a top concern, Lucid Software’s Hybrid Workplace Whiplash Survey of over 2,500 knowledge workers found that companies were trying to solve productivity issues by expanding their technology stacks, with 45% of workers using five or more tools to complete tasks and get their work done. However, nearly half (44%) of employees are dissatisfied with the collaboration tools their company offers.

The study also sheds light on why employees are dissatisfied and the stark disconnect between the tools companies have in their tech stacks and the tools employees want. For example, only 22% of employees currently report using visual collaboration software, yet 73% of employees believe visualizations are important for effective collaboration.

For over a decade, Lucid has put visualization at the center of collaboration, empowering teams, whether they work in an office, hybrid, or fully remote, to collaborate, align, and build workflows. Lucid’s latest capabilities address the many needs employees need to work more effectively and increase productivity in a hybrid environment.

Boost team collaboration with enhanced AI capabilities

AI has proven to be the foundation of today’s business operations, with 75% of leaders in organizations whose teams use AI saying it has improved their ability to collaborate. When enabling AI became a primary goal for companies and teams, Lucid was ahead of the curve. For over a decade, Lucid has delivered an intelligent, comprehensive visual collaboration platform that empowers employees at every stage of a project. And with Lucid’s latest AI features and plugins, employees can get more done faster by generating new visualizations and summaries of their Lucid documents.

For example, Lucid’s Collaborative AI will quickly suggest ideas and summarize content. Building on these AI capabilities, teams can now use AI prompts in Lucidchart to automatically generate a flowchart, sequence diagram, class diagram, or entity-relationship diagram. With these user-generated prompts, users can also iterate and update each specific aspect of the AI-generated diagram until they have the exact visualization they need.

For example, UX/UI teams can automatically generate a flowchart for unique customer service systems, personalizing their prompts with the specific steps and visuals that the final product needs to include. This could include adding terms like “assign support ticket” or “escalate complex issues” to the prompt. Lucid’s flowchart generation functionality will automatically create a flowchart to include these steps, saving your team valuable time getting started.

The introduction of the Microsoft Copilot plugin with Lucid also brings AI directly into teams’ collaborative workflows. This integration allows teams to download Lucid documents and create AI-generated summaries of those documents. For example, let’s say a few team members are unable to join an important brainstorming session. In that case, they can access the relevant Lucid documents directly in Copilot and request AI-generated summaries to help them understand where projects are, what their team is thinking, and what the next steps are.

Coordinate activities in shared space with team hubs

According to a recent Lucid study, 75% of employees say that ineffective communication or collaboration is a barrier to innovation in their organization. To overcome this, Lucid is connecting teams in one centralized place called Team Hubs, a new team experience that allows team members to easily track progress, initiate and discuss work, and make decisions faster.

Team hubs offer comprehensive access to all team documentation. A team lead can create a team hub and add their direct reports to give them full access to critical documentation and support resources needed to complete projects and easily get the latest updates. Users can even create team hubs for specific project groups or scrum teams to improve cross-functional collaboration.

In the team hub, users can also pin a team space, the team’s home base for coordination. For example, a scrum team can pin their sprint planning board, as the team will regularly return to this document and collaborate on it to understand what goals they will achieve during the sprint.

By powering AI-powered collaboration and streamlining team communication, Lucid is leading the way in defining what effective hybrid team collaboration looks like by creating the advanced capabilities teams need today to stay aligned, innovative, and productive across their workflows.
