VAA Philippines offers ‘human touch’ to close AI gap in e-commerce

“AI, as we know, is making huge strides and it’s amazing what it can do. But more often than not, it’s great when someone else is steering the ship on the other side, if it’s AI,” said Bridgitte Raven, Sales Associate at VAA Philippines. “There are things AI still can’t do, like providing excellent customer service, intuitively understanding retail, how different businesses and enterprises think, what their purpose is, and so much more.”

Raven made the remarks at the Google and Calcalist e-commerce conference on behalf of VAA Philippines, a company that recruits and trains virtual assistants in the Philippines to support people in Amazon and e-commerce businesses. It has more than 650 people who have that “human touch” that is often missing in AI technology.

“We found that despite advances in technology and AI, people still need and want someone to steer the ship, manage applications, and even just give them a human touch,” Raven added.
