Geek+ and Körber accelerate e-commerce warehouse operations at Hawesko Group

Duesseldorf, Germany, July 3, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Geekplus, a global leader in mobile robots and intelligent logistics solutions, has partnered with Körber to implement more than 20 autonomous mobile robots for wine distributor Hawesko Group. The project brings warehouse automation to Tornech, Germanya facility where internal logistics provider IWL handles 20 million bottles of wine and champagne annually.

With this new solution, Geekplus robots now serve 330 shelves in an area of ​​6,000 square meters.

Thanks to the integrated interaction of modern software and automation, the Hawesko Group has increased its warehouse efficiency by 50 percent. Behind the scenes, all operational warehouse processes converge on the digital logistics platform Körber. The WMS acts as the operations center, while the divided Unified Control System (UCS) optimizes the control of the automated technology portfolio and creates extended communication interfaces for robotic applications. As a result, the picking efficiency in the extended area has more than doubled.
