E-commerce firm signs 10-year lease for last unit at Warwickshire logistics park

Furnolic, described as “one of the largest retailers on Amazon”, which operates under the names Songmics, Vasagle and Feandrea, has signed a 10-year lease with Prologis UK for a 166,748 sq ft unit at Prologis Park Ryton in Warwickshire.

This is Furnolic’s second site at Prologis Park Ryton. In December 2021, the company signed a 10-year lease for DC8, a 148,461 sq ft facility that was the company’s first physical site in the UK.

Its new unit, DC4, was recently refurbished “to align with Prologis’ progressive sustainability standards”. Having received an EPC rating of ‘A’, the facility’s offices are now ‘fully electric’, with electric vehicle charging points built into the car park.

Furnolic’s agreement to lease this premises means that Prologis Park Ryton is now fully leased.

Tong Wang, Director of Furnolic, commented: “Prologis Park Ryton is strategically located in the West Midlands, with easy access to six major motorways within a 14-mile radius. The new lease is expected to generate additional jobs in the area. Other companies at Prologis Park Ryton include Jaguar Land Rover, DHL and LEVC.”

Furnolic specializes in household goods, furniture, and pet furniture. It has branches all over the world: in the United States, Germany, Japan, France, Spain, Italy, Canada, and Mexico.

The e-commerce company will reportedly use Prologis Essentials, a turnkey warehouse equipment service, for the racking in the new facility, a move Prologis says mirrors a 2021 lease agreement that made Furnolic one of Prologis UK’s first Essentials customers.

Tom Price, Leasing Director at Prologis UK, added: “We are always proud to be part of our customers’ growth and it was a privilege to facilitate Furnolic’s expansion into another unit at Prologis Park Ryton, located in the heart of the Golden Triangle of logistics here in the Midlands.”
