atmos Tokyo x New Balance 580 “Wood Escape” | Release date and price

Fresh off successful collaborations with ASICS such as the atmos Tokyo x Lagua Gem x ASICS GEL-NYC “Blue Topaz” and atmos x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 “Yakoutake,” the Japanese streetwear brand unveils another exciting collaboration, this time a new interpretation of the classic New Balance 580. The “Wood Escape” colorway draws inspiration from the serenity of nature, drawing on the earthy tones and lush green of forests and mountains.

The shoe features a breathable mesh base covered in premium suede and nubuck panels. Shades of brown dominate the mudguard, midfoot and heel, mimicking one of the most prevalent colors in the wilderness. Contrasting grey balances out the color scheme, while green accents on the N logo, tongue label and heel evoke the vitality of nature.

For a rugged aesthetic, the design features a furry suede tongue and hiking boot-style laces. Functional details include 3M reflective accents on the green panels for increased visibility during outdoor adventures. A black midsole with a grey Rollbar stripe provides support and stability, while the rubber outsole provides excellent traction on a variety of terrain.

The atmos Tokyo x New Balance 580 “Wood Escape” dropped exclusively online at atmos Tokyo on June 29th, priced at 19,800 JPY (~125 USD). They’re also available on the SNKRDUNK app if you’re interested in a pair.
