These roles are part of President-Superintendent Mike Muñoz’s cabinet, also known as the college’s executive leadership team.

“We are pleased to support Dr. Muñoz’s selection of new leaders to join his leadership team,” said board chair Vivian Malauulu in a recent statement. “Each brings impressive resumes, diverse and strong industry experience that will help LBCC achieve and create more opportunities for our students.”

As Vice President of Workforce and Economic Development, Madrid will oversee, plan, implement and coordinate the work of internal staff and external partners to ensure that the college’s workforce and economic development mission meets the needs of regional business and industry and is aligned with LBCC’s goals and objectives, as outlined in the college’s job description.

Madrid’s term begins July 15 and ends June 30, 2026. The annual salary for the position is $241,971, according to the contract.

According to a recent press release, Madrid, with a background in higher education administration and staff development, is committed to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.

As dean of Educational Services, Workforce Development and Innovation at East Los Angeles College, Madrid led initiatives to improve student outcomes through program enhancements and collaboration with faculty.

Gregoryk will be responsible for managing and integrating the board’s program, comprehensive administrative and business services for LBCC, according to the college’s job description. This includes developing, issuing and managing requests for proposals and public works bids, leading district-wide legal and management coordination, and contract management.

According to the contract, his term will last until December 20, and his hourly rate will be $122.15.

Gregoryk has more than 40 years of experience in a variety of leadership roles in the education and community college sectors, according to a news release, including at Mt. San Antonio College, where he contributed to the college’s financial stability, campus infrastructure and technology support systems.

Runkle will be primarily responsible for facilitating, coordinating, planning and supporting career and technical education. Some of Runkle’s responsibilities will also include developing a college-wide strategic plan for integrated career education programs, writing grant applications and serving on various planning committees and task forces to support the college’s planning structure, according to the college’s job description.

Under the agreement, Runkle’s term as dean of professional education will begin July 22 and end June 30, 2026. The annual salary will be $213,318.

Runkle has a background in higher education and corporate marketing, having served in various capacities at Miami Dade College in Florida, Santa Monica College and Rio Hondo College, according to a press release. In her previous role as dean of business at Rio Hondo College, she managed academic programs across multiple professional education divisions.

“We were fortunate to have a very strong group of candidates applying for these key leadership positions, and I am confident that we are receiving the best candidates to fill these critically important roles,” Muñoz said in a statement released Wednesday, June 26. “I am incredibly grateful for the roles their predecessors played in maintaining the university’s momentum as we sought to fill these positions permanently.”
