Samsung, Arnold and Porter sue Broadcom for antitrust violations

Samsung Electronics, represented by the law firm Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, has filed an antitrust complaint against Broadcom, alleging that the semiconductor maker violated U.S. law by monopolizing the supply of key components used in its Galaxy series of smartphones, tablets and other high-end mobile devices.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose division, accuses Broadcom of blocking Samsung’s attempts to purchase electronics components from other manufacturers by withholding supplies of goods and services and forcing the company to enter into an exclusivity agreement.
