The powerful A18 chipset can be used in all models

The highly anticipated iPhone 16 series is expected to launch in September, as per Apple’s traditional schedule. According to new leaks about the iPhone 16, the tech giant could be using the powerful A18 chipset in all iPhone 16 models. Last year’s non-Pro models, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, featured the less powerful A16 Bionic chipset compared to the Pro models.

A fresh leak claims that the entire iPhone 16 lineup will feature the cutting-edge A18 Bionic processor, unlike in other years. The move marks a significant upgrade to the iPhone 16 series, promising increased performance and efficiency across the board. This latest leak suggests that Apple intends to deliver a consistent, high-performance experience across its entire next-generation smartphone lineup.

Apple focuses on AI integration

Interestingly, Apple, following the trend of many smartphone manufacturers, is focusing on integrating AI into its devices via its Apple Intelligence service. However, Apple differentiates itself by running most of its AI features directly on the device, making it necessary to include a robust chipset. Due to the lack of a powerful chipset, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will not receive the Apple Intelligence update this year. However, all models in the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup are expected to feature the same processor, which will enable seamless AI functionality on the device.

There could be differences in the chipset lineup for the iPhone 16 series. Some reports suggest that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus (or possibly the iPhone 16 Slim) will feature the A18 chip, while the more expensive iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will feature the more powerful A18 Pro Bionic chip.

While this is just speculation for now, it would be beneficial for consumers if all iPhone 16 models were equipped with the latest chipset.

Meanwhile, according to a leak by Ice Universe, the iPhone 16 Pro models will likely have the thinnest bezels ever, breaking the record set by the iPhone 15 Pro and rival devices like Samsung. The upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are also expected to be larger in size. In fact, the Pro model is expected to be 6.1 inches instead of 6.3 inches, while the Pro Max model could be the largest iPhone yet, measuring 6.9 inches, up from 6.7 inches.
