Balmoral Group announces appointment of Sarah-Jane Hogg as non-executive director

Aberdeen, Scotland – 02 June 2024 – Balmoral Group Holdings Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah-Jane Hogg as a Non-Executive Director. Sarah brings a wealth of experience from her current role as Chief Executive of Friends of ANCHOR, a charity dedicated to supporting cancer and haematology patients in the North East of Scotland and the Northern Isles.

In addition to her role with Friends of ANCHOR, Sarah serves as a Trustee of The Milne Family Foundation, the charity founded by her father, Sir James Milne, Chairman and Managing Director of the Balmoral Group.

Commenting on Sarah’s appointment, Sir James Milne said: “I am delighted to welcome Sarah to the Balmoral Group Board as a non-executive Director. Her appointment will provide her with a deep understanding of how the Group operates, ensuring that we continue to support Friends of ANCHOR and The Milne Family Foundation into the future. Sarah’s extensive experience in public engagement will provide a fresh perspective to the Balmoral Group Board as we continue to diversify our activities.”

Sarah expressed her enthusiasm, saying: “Balmoral Group has always been a significant part of family life and I am delighted to join the board and play an active role in the business. It is important that the Balmoral Group board includes a wide range of experience beyond the traditional manufacturing background, particularly as we embark on new ventures such as our recent acquisition of The Marcliffe Hotel and Spa.”

Sarah’s appointment marks a significant step in the Balmoral Group’s commitment to building on its expertise and maintaining strong support for charities. Her leadership and insight are expected to contribute significantly to the group’s future endeavours.

In addition, Balmoral Group is pleased to announce the completion of the sale of The Marcliffe Hotel from The Spence Family to Balmoral Group. This acquisition marks an exciting new chapter for both The Marcliffe Hotel and Balmoral Group as they continue to grow and diversify their operations.
