Stock Market Sectors: Stock Market Update: FMCG Stocks Rise as Market Gains

NEW DELHI: Fast moving consumer goods stocks ended on a positive note on Wednesday.

Top gainers included Zydus Wellness Ltd. (up 7.90%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (up 3.75%), Sheetal Cool Products Ltd. (up 2.51%), Varun Beverages Ltd. (up 2.31%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd. (up 2.08%), Emami Ltd. (up 1.81%), Vadilal Industries Ltd. (up 1.24%), Dabur India Ltd. (up 1.15%), Umang Dairies Ltd. (up 1.12%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (up 1.02%).

LT Foods Ltd. (down 3.19%), Tasty Bite Eatables Ltd. (down 2.15%), Patanjali Foods Ltd. (down 1.73%), Dangee Dums Ltd. (down 1.29%), Hatsun Agro Products Ltd. (down 0.89%), Heritage Foods Ltd. (down 0.54%), Prataap Snacks Ltd. (down 0.42%), Gillette India Ltd. (down 0.38%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd. (down 0.25%) and Dodla Dairy Ltd. (down 0.24%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended the day up 162.66 points at 24,286.5, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed 545.35 points higher at 79,986.8.

Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (up 3.75%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (up 2.43%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (up 2.33%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (up 2.2%), Axis Bank Ltd. (up 2.13%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (up 1.83%), State Bank of India (up 1.68%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. (up 1.56%), Eicher Motors Ltd. (up 1.44%) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (up 1.32%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack. On the other hand, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (down 1.3%), Titan Company Ltd. (down 1.16%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (down 0.82%), Tata Motors Ltd. (down 0.58%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (down 0.45%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (down 0.34%), Cipla Ltd. (down 0.33%), Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (down 0.27%), LTIMindtree Ltd. (down 0.14%) and Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (down 0.06%) ended in the red.
