LDWF publishes rules, regulations and schedule for 2024-2025 hunting season

The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is posting the 2024-25 hunting regulations booklet on the LDWF website. The booklet includes hunting rules, regulations and season dates. LDWF Administrator Tommy Tuma…

“On June 20, it became final in the Louisiana registry and we posted it online. And so it’s available to anyone who can go to our website and either view it on the website, which is a public viewer, or download it to their computer to view it.”

Tuma says the brochure also outlines what equipment hunters can use during the season, as well as Wildlife Management Area (WMA) rules and regulations.

“Remember, WMAs are public lands, so we can’t control access. So these seasons and these regulations are different than on private lands.”

Printed copies of the brochures will be available in August at LDWF offices and at hunting and fishing license dealers.

“We’re moving our entire process to where we can finalize the rules and regulations, get them printed and available before dove hunting season, which typically starts Labor Day weekend.”

This season’s brochure also includes a season schedule for the state’s ten deer hunting areas.
